New Year’s Eve is always one of the high points of the year – and one London bar is ensuring that will definitely be the case.
Chelsea Italian restaurant and bar Goat is launching a cocktail laced with cannabis extract for its end-of-year celebration.
The £10 drink, called Astoria, also contains vodka and passion fruit, and is unsurprisingly reported to relax the drinker.

Goat says the controversial cannabis extract in the drink has medicinal properties, which can include anti-anxiety qualities.
It can also reverse fatigue and revitalise consumers, which the bar hopes will ensure that drinkers keep dancing until midnight when the New Year begins.
It’s not the only drink made from cannabis extract to hit the UK in recent years.
The cocktail, which is garnished with hemp seeds, does not contain any psychoactive properties, so it won’t make you stoned or get you high
You can also buy a a 100 per cent organic hemp milk called Relax by Rawligion which contains hemp seeds, cashews, dates, coconut oil, vanilla, water and cannabidiol oil, which is found in cannabis.
The milk doesn’t contain any of the psychoactive compounds you might find in cannabis, so it won’t make you high or get you stoned, but it is said to calm you down.
There is also an energy drink called Cannabis Energy Drink that is made using hemp seeds that come from a type of cannabis plant.
However like the milk and the cocktail, it doesn’t contain any tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which has psychoactive properties.
For those who don’t fancy a cannabis-laced tipple, fear not as Goat will be serving much more traditional festive beverages such as mulled wine, eggnog and a mince pie martini.
Tickets for Goat’s New Year’s Eve celebrations cost £25, which includes a glass of fizz and canapes.
