Adorable footage has emerged showing a giant panda stuck in a tree.

The video, filmed at Shenyang Zoo, China, features Pu Pu the big furry bear attempting to get himself out of an awkward situation.

He can be seen writhing around while hanging upside down at a height of around four feet.

It appears that the animal had attempted to climb the tree but got its leg caught in one of the branches.

After squirming for a few seconds Pu Pu, showing an impressive display of core strength, manages to bend his body just enough to grab on to another branch and release his trapped foot.

The video was filmed last week and uploaded to YouTube channel Giant Panda World.
