Cyclists ride straight through a stop sign in Brisbane

  • At least 20 cyclists filmed riding through stop sign in a quiet Brisbane suburb
  • They barely slowed down before the blind corner the stop sign stood at
  • Driver claims they often go 65km/h in the 40km/h zone and abuse residents

A group of ‘aggressive’ cyclists are risking lives by ignoring road rules and speeding by up to 25km/h through a quiet neighbourhood, residents claim.

Matt Power filmed at least 20 riders cruising straight through a stop sign at a blind corner in Yeronga, Brisbane, which he claims happens every day.

The long line of cyclists barely even braked as they went around the corner, which was quickly followed by another bend.

Mr Power claimed cyclists regularly flouted road rules as they went through the suburb with little regard for the safety of others.

The 31-year-old claimed to have seen cyclists riding at 65km/h in a 40km/h zone while shouting abuse at residents and drivers.

‘I’ve been verbally abused reversing out of my house at a blind corner,’ he told 9 News.

‘They ride up to five-wide and don’t care to move over for any traffic to pass and will yell at you if you dare.’

‘This needs to stop before someone gets seriously injured.’

The father-of-two claimed he told police who set up a radar gun but were not there when the cyclists usually ride through the area.
