Jailbird Oliver Curtis has been declared the new boss of his father’s healthcare data business, and is looking to raise $60million to fund the venture through a new cryptocurrency.

The convicted insider trader’s new gig is at Sydney-based E-nome, which is designing an app which allows people to access, store and sell off their own medical records, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Curtis is currently door-knocking on investors to help fund a bid to buy in on a company which has the rights to download official government records to its database.

The purchase will reportedly be funded through the sale of ‘Nomes’, a new cryptocurrency similar to Bitcoin, which will be bought up by investors.

‘Nomes’ will also be paid out to users who choose to sell their medical records to researchers using the app.

Curtis began work at E-Nome almost as soon as he left Cooma Correctional Centre in June this year after serving only half of his prison sentence, making it a quick jaunt to the top of the food chain for the father-of-two.

His father Nick Curtis, who founded the company, could not be more enthused to have his son on board.

‘Oli is back in the saddle in a big way,’ his father, Nick Curtis, told the paper.

‘We are really proud to have him leading the team.’

Curtis, husband to PR mogul Roxy Jacenko, is the second biggest shareholder of the company, holding 22.5 per cent of the company, while his father holds 22.9 per cent.

In June 2016, Curtis was found guilty of conspiring to commit insider trading, and sentenced to a maximum of two years behind bars.

He was released after just one year on a good behaviour bond, meaning if he puts a foot wrong in the eyes of the law, he could return to prison.

A spokesman for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission told Daily Mail Australia days before his release from prison that there was no restriction on Curtis’ ability to work in the financial sector, only that he could not be the director of a company for five years.

Despite his conviction, the ASIC spokesman revealed Curtis will still be able to make trades for a company and in his own name, as well as provide financial services to others.

The five-year ban on directorship, which began the moment Curtis walked out of prison, is an automatic result of being convicted under the Corporations Act.

To have been banned from any other financial work, ASIC explained a specific ban would need to have been sought, and none was for Curtis.

Revelations about Curtis’ new job come just days after his wife Roxy revealed she was in talks to star in her own reality show.

Remaining understandably tight-lipped, she said: ‘It has been discussed with a production company fronted by one of Sydney’s fav breakfast radio stars.’

Roxy left the identity of the radio star under wraps, the cryptic teaser sure to send her social media fans into speculation overdrive.

Never one to jump the gun, she also re-iterated: ‘Nothing is set in stone as yet.’

Roxy shared the news after her 12-month ‘ambassador role’ with streaming service Stan was announced – which could mean the intricacies of Roxy and Oliver’s intimate personal lives will be available for on demand viewing.
