Georgia Toffolo offers to use her fame to help Tories

Newly crowned I’m a Celebrity winner Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo has spoken out about her hopes to become a Tory MP and revealed which members of the party she ‘fancies’.

Following her jungle win the 23-year-old said she wants to use her fame to encourage younger people to engage more with politics.

The reality TV star also described Jacob Rees-Mogg as a ‘sex god’ and offered to help the party embrace social media.

In an interview with Laura Pullman of The Sunday Times, Toff suggested the Conservative party could do more to attract young voters on social media.

She also praised her fellow camp mate, former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale – who she said did her party ‘proud’.

And when asked which party member she admired, she said: ‘Zac Goldsmith, Jacob Rees-Mogg. I fancy them all. Jacob’s a sex god.’

The 23-year-old told ITV’s This Morning earlier this week: ‘I’ve spoken about politics a lot over the years and my main issue that I championed was just general engagement in politics.

‘Challenge me on Twitter and if you don’t agree with me, great, but tell me why you don’t agree with me.

‘I think sometimes with politics, young people especially have become disillusioned with it, because they can’t relate to it, there’s a lot of snobbery and people are a lot older.’

Toffolo said she thinks that some people ‘laugh’ at her interest in politics ‘because reality television doesn’t go hand-in-hand with it’ or her ‘blonde hair’, or that she goes out ‘quite a lot’.

She added: ‘Maybe that is the way forward – embracing people that might not have an interest.’

Experts previously predicted that Toff could rake in £1million following her appearance on the show in the form of lucrative underwear, cosmetic and fashion deals.

She also struck up an unlikely friendship with Boris Johnson’s father Stanley, 77, and was devastated when he was voted out after 20 days in the camp.

When Mr Johnson was elected as camp Prime Minister, he chose Toff to be his deputy and the pair became incredibly close.

Following his departure, the former politician said he hoped the reality star would win the show, adding: ‘I’ve got a soft spot for Toff.’

The socialite, who attended Torquay Girls’ Grammar School, has completed a law degree at the University of Westminster.

She joined the cast of Made In Chelsea during the seventh series in 2014 and also appeared on TV show Celebs Go Dating earlier this year.
