A four-year-old boy has died after he was discovered in a hot tub at a Lake Tahoe resort in what authorities say appears to be an accident.
Police say the boy from Redwood City, California, was found unresponsive on Sunday afternoon at Montbleu Resort Casino and Spa in Stateline, Nevada.
Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters responded to the hotel complex just before 1.30pm on Sunday and proceeded to perform CPR on the toddler until paramedics arrived.

Deputies removed the toddler from the hot tub and attempted CPR before rushing him to a hospital, where he passed away
According to the sheriff’s office, the child was then rushed to Barton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The El Dorado County Coroner was expected to perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
CBS San Francisco reported that the death was being investigated as an accidental drowning, according to officials.
The deceased child’s name was not immediately released, and there was no word on his family or caretakers.
MontBleu Resort is operated by Tropicana Entertainment. According to the company’s website, nightly rates at the hotel range from $280 for a value room to $630 for a suite.
