Openair Cinemas offers doggy dates with doughnuts and beds

The holidays and New Year often has singles yearning for a mate, but now there’s a place where you can take your furry friend on a special date.

American Express Openair Cinemas has launched ‘Doggy Dates’ so that no one has to be lonely while taking in holiday classics and next year’s newest films. 

And they’ve pulled out all the stops for your pampered pooch.

There will be canine couches where pups can relax, and even a platter of treats to nibble on so that they can get the full ‘VID’ treatment.

Your lucky pet will even get a platter of doughnuts specifically made for pups thanks to Darby’s Dog Bakery & Deli.

American Express Openair Cinemas is making its way through 10 cities across Australia and New Zealand until April 2018.

Screenings in Sydney’s Inner West and Melbourne will wrap up this week, with tickets on sale already for Bondi, Canberra, and Auckland.

And there will be more than just movies to see. Openair will also have live music and DJ performances before each screening and a ‘Crafty Corner’ where guests can ‘Pimp a pineapple’ or take masterclasses in knitting and macrame knots.

Each stop on Openair’s nationwide tour will also include a series of alfresco long table dinners meant to transport guests to the streets of Naples. 

There will be three-course meals paired with wine, hosted by the likes of Salt Meats Cheese and Ladro, as well as wood-fired pizzas and freshly tossed salads.
