- Vincent Calogero, 38, and Sarah Nilson, 32, charged with child endangerment, child neglect and being under the influence of a controlled substance
A California couple have been arrested on child endangerment and neglect charges after authorities say the pair tried to sell their two sons in exchange for drugs or money.
At around 4pm on Thursday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies from the Lancaster Station responded to an address in Lancaster after getting a call about a possible child abuse call.
Deputies made contact with the suspects and determined that 38-year-old Vincent Calogero and 32-year-old Sarah Nilson had been attempting to give or sell their biological children, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

The suspects were arrested and transported to Lancaster Station, where they were booked on charges of felony child endangerment, child neglect and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
The parents’ bail was set at $100,000. Their two sons were taken into the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services.
The sheriff’s news release said detectives ‘would like to commend the residents of Lancaster who intervened in response to the danger the children were in.’
Detectives are now seeking additional witnesses in the child endangerment case.
They are asking anyone who may have seen Nilson and Calogero abusing their children, or had the duo approach them offering to sell their sons, to contact Lancaster Station at (661) 948-8466.
