News anchor in China freaks out when bee lands on his face

  • A news anchor had a panic attack when a bee flew in and landed on him
  • The insect crawled onto his face as he tried to stay calm in front of the camera
  • The scene was cut out from the live broadcast but was filmed by the staff

This is the awkward moment a television anchor in east China panicked during a live show when a bee landed on his face.

Footage has emerged showing a male news reader freezing his action seconds after a bee appeared in front of the camera and stopped on his shirt.

He is seen trying to flick away the buzzing insect when it crawls up onto his face.

The incident occurred during a live news broadcast in the studio of Jiyang Radio and Television station in Shangdong Province.

A station staff member told Pear Video that it happened about half a month ago. The woman said a bee had flown and stopped on the male anchor’s shirt.

‘This section is cut. We didn’t stream it to the public,’ she said.

She explained the footage had been taken by the anchor’s colleagues who were at the scene.

In the footage, the anchor stops moving, hoping the bee would fly away; but the insect crawls up onto his face and next to his mouth.

A helper rushes over and tries to use a comb to make the bee fly away.

The anchor finally flicks away the bug and quickly gets off the chair.
