Pittsburgh Steelers fan freaks out over loss to Patriots

One Pennsylvania family’s Sunday Night Football experience turned into an emotionally explosive event while a Pittsburgh Steelers-loving dad watched his beloved team lose to the New England Patriots.

The unnamed man’s child captured his emotional game-time highs and lows for posterity, posting them as they occurred Sunday night on Snapchat. Later, the videos were edited together into a one minute and 37 second montage.

The clips were all shot during the course of the football game, in a family-filled TV room at a home in Levittown, Pennsylvania.

At various points in the video, the man, clad in a black Steelers t-shirt, can be seen standing, putting his hands in prayer position — supplicating the football gods for a good result — and screaming with both anger and elation, depending on what’s happening onscreen.

His spoken reactions range from shouting ‘Break his f****** neck!’ to ‘Goddamnit!’ and ‘That’s bulls***! Bulls***!’

In between those outbursts, he mocks Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and encourages a Steelers player by shouting ‘Come on sister, Go! Go!’ at the TV screen.

Throughout the video, his relatives can be seen and heard laughing. At one point, a blonde woman in the background grimaces and a man in a grey sweatshirt appears to hide his laughter behind a hand.

The most shocking — and amusing — moments in the video involve brutal assaults on first chips, then dip.

At a particularly tense point in the game, midway through the video, the man reacts to a ‘bulls***’ call by picking up a large plastic bowl of chips and flinging the chips around the room before finally hurling the bowl towards the TV.

Everyone in the room is clearly amused, but not entirely surprised by his actions.

At another point in the video, the video-taking child points out that the dad has a literal chip on his shoulder, prompting the man to duck his head down with laughter.

The dip assault occurs at the end of the game, during the referee’s controversial decision to reverse a touchdown after a replay review. The touchdown, had it stood, would have given the Steelers a three-point lead over AFC rivals the Patriots in the final 34 seconds of the game.

The child captioned what happened next with the words ‘Send help to Briaroot Lane’ when posting the clip on Snapchat.

Once the call reversal was announced, the man slams his hands down on the coffee table, picks up a plastic bowl of dip and then brings it crashing down on the table. In the background, the man in the grey sweatshirt covers himself in what appears to be an attempt to ward off the flying chip dip.

The video ends with a close up shot of the post game chip and dip detritus covering the carpeted floor and recliners.

‘There is some dip on the wall,’ someone notes as the videographer zooms in to a blob of creamy dip near the ceiling.

The frustrated dad was given the last words in the video — ‘That’s f****** bulls***!’ he says as he turns away from both the game and the TV in disgust.
