Taking to his Twitter page, the 45-year-old revealed the pair were on good terms again, after his older sibling ‘reached out to him’ ahead of the festive season.

Liam has been at war with his brother, 50, for almost a decade – and the pair have endured a number of very public rows on social media ever since their band Oasis split in 2009.

To the delight of fans, Liam wrote: ‘I wanna say Happy Xmas to team NG it’s been a great year thanks for everything looking forward to seeing you tmorrow AS YOU WERE LG x’

Fans immediately began to speculate whether team ‘NG’ referred to his brother and former bandmate, and flooded the post with excitable messages.

However after years of clashing, one fan expressed their skepticism – leading Liam to confirm the happy news once and for all.

The follower wrote: ‘……..Team who? Your not going to have a meltdown on here come Christmas day are you Liam when NG doesnt reach out to you’

At which Liam replied: ‘He’s already reached out’, before following up with a second message which read: ‘We’re all good again.’

It was only last month that Liam admitted he missed his brother, and hates taking to the stage without him.

Speaking to FAULT magazine, the Wall Of Glass hitmaker said: I don’t want to be solo. I don’t want to do it on my own – I’m not a guitar player or a prolific songwriter.

The Mancunian brothers have been estranged since 2009 – enduring a number of rows during their time in Oasis before the band finally split that year.

Noel said in a statement at the time: ‘It is with some sadness and great relief […] I quit Oasis tonight.

‘People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.’

However, Liam did recently hint at future reconciliation between the pair – admitting they had ‘unfinished business’ to sort, but that he is still fond of his brother.

Speaking to BBC Radio One, he said: ‘Everyone knows I love our kid. He doesn’t speak to me, we don’t speak to each other.

‘I’ll speak to him some day. It’s all very sad, but we’ll get over it… I guess it musn’t be nice for my mum… If Oasis ever got back together… if they do, they do. If they don’t, they don’t.

‘A lot of people go, ‘Oh, leave it in the past, you were great then’. Mate, if we ever got back together, it would be happening. There’d be no dodgy gigs, it’d be bang on. So there is unfinished business there, but we’ll see what happens. In the meantime, we’re two little solo boys doing our little things.’
