Dumpster driver crashed truck into Evan Turner’s pool

A dumpster truck driver was rescued after crashing his vehicle into the swimming pool of Portland Trailblazers star Evan Turner.

Authorities say the truck’s driver lost control on a hairpin curve and wound up careening down a hill and before submerging into the pool on Wednesday morning.

According to KATU, the driver of the truck was eventually rescued by emergency personnel but was helped by Turner’s chef.

He reportedly rushed out of the house after the crash happened to keep the driver’s head above water until first responders arrived.

Rescuers from the Portland Fire & Rescue Bureau raced to the site of the crash, reported at 8.49am, to reach the driver’s cab which was partially submerged in pool water, said bureau spokeswoman Capt Louisa Jones.

At least one rescuer held the driver’s head up from the water while others used the ‘jaws of life’ to pry the damaged steering column from the center console which had pinned the driver inside the vehicle, according to Jones.

Jones said the truck was coming down a hairpin turn in the twisty West Hills when ‘it lost control somehow…and went over an embankment.’

Dirt from the debris vehicle, which Jones estimated had an open cargo area of five feet by 10 feet by 15 feet, spread all over the yard and pool area where the truck came to rest.

A heavy duty tow truck was removing the truck from the pool by 11 am, she said.
