A man’s ‘abysmal’ dinners that his mum lovingly prepares are getting mocked online

A man who shares his mum’s lovingly prepared meals in a group chat has seen the ‘abysmal’ dinners mercilessly mocked after one of his pal’s brutally reviewed each ‘awful’ dish.

Clem Johnson, 24, from near Liverpool, Merseyside, first started sharing his mum’s culinary delights to his football mates ‘as a laugh’.

However, his friend Owen Southwood, 20, who claimed they looked like they’d been ‘cooked in a washing machine’ shared his pal’s snaps on Twitter, with the thread attracting more than 35,800 likes and 4,920 retweets.

Clem sent the photos to his Liverpool season ticket holder pals with hilarious captions – including two meals that were so odd they were branded ‘unidentifiable’.

Other dishes included microwaved bacon, pie with cream crackers and spaghetti with ketchup.

Owen said: ‘He’s taking the p**s [out of the meals] with most of the pictures. I think he doesn’t mind the spaghetti and sausages but the rest of them he’s taking the p**s.

In a brutal rating Owen Southwood, 20, said this was the ‘single worst meal I’ve ever seen’ and gave it zero out of ten, pointing out that the bacon – served with peas, spaghetti, and whatappeared to be an egg – had been cooked in the microave

Owen was slightly kinder about this pie, which was bizarrely served with crackers, and gave it five out of ten saying: 'I can't really knock it too much'

‘We all just send our food in whenever we make something that looks nice, so he does the opposite.

‘It started about two months ago with the sausages and spaghetti. His mum cooks the majority of them.

‘Some of them caused more of a stir in the group than others.

‘The best looking one is probably the curry – it looks edible and would probably taste okay.

‘The worst one was the spaghetti with egg and bacon. We voted as a group that it was the worst meal we’d ever seen.

‘The egg and chips wasn’t even that bad really – it’s just the presentation.

‘The pie on crackers got called worse than rations.’

Clem first started sharing the pictures to his mates after being stunned at the meals his mum served up.

Noting cheese and toast is at least 'normal' Owen gave his mates meal a five out of ten because he doubted that the slimy-looking creation tasted like it's supposed to

Clem said: ‘I’ve been sending them in for ages as a laugh to see their reaction.

‘I hate cooking it’s just too much effort for five minutes to eat. I live with my mum so she cooks.

‘Owen said ‘enough’s enough – it’s going on Twitter’.

‘All my mates have been laughing for ages. I didn’t think it’d go viral on Twitter though.’

Owen admitted to this day he 'still doesn't know what this is' giving it a generous one out of ten

One of the highest ranking dishes in the thread was Clem's 'chicken wings' which got an astonishing seven and a half out of ten after Owen revealed: 'If I was hungry I would eat these. They look a bit raw but probably just the lighting.'

The football fan has now rushed to defend his mum’s egg and chips – but admits pie and crackers wasn’t quite Michelin-star standard.

Clem said: ‘The reaction online’s been funny. At first I tried to keep it anonymous but loads of people worked out it was me.

‘I reckon chip and eggs isn’t even that bad. Pie and crackers was definitely a low.

‘I’ve seen a lad donated £25 to a food bank so that’s all that matters. I don’t go hungry so all good.’

Owen said: ‘The caption doesn’t sound happy but arguably one of the nicer looking meals on the list, think it’s supposed to be a curry but don’t quote me on that.’

One of Owen’s comments reads: ‘Without doubt the single worst meal I have EVER seen consumed, there are starving refugees who would turn their nose up at this, the bacon was also cooked in the microwave. 0/10’

Another says: ‘This is supposed to be a fajita, the block of what looks like butter is a solid block of cheese and yes they are baked beans. 2.5/10’

A third reads: ‘To this day I still don’t know what this is. 1/10’

Although he was in on the joke, Clem kindly tweeted asking those who laughed at his pictures to donate to a food bank – admitting his ‘scran’s s**t’ but he was lucky to eat.

‘Loads of people don’t. Put your money where your mouth is and support your local foodbank which you can find here.’

TV chef Lorraine King even chipped in at Clem’s disappointing dinners. Lorraine said: ‘Looking at those images has given me gout.’

Neil Houlihan tweeted: ‘Blimey she makes £cookingwithAuntyBuck look like a professional chef.’

Tommy Millar said: ‘BEIGE PLATES. Why is there SO MUCH STARCH.’

Another added: ‘Dunno whether to laugh or boak. What is wrong with ur pal, have eaten better food in hospital ffs.’
