A NYC bar has a strict underwear-only dress code on NYE

At the end of a raucous New Year’s Eve celebration, some revelers may find themselves in their underwear. And this year, a few in New York City will start out that way.

Midtown gastropub 5TH & MAD is hosting a ‘seven deadly sins’-themed New Year’s Eve party, and the suggested attire isn’t exactly semi-formal. In fact, it’s semi-nude.

The bar will be enforcing a strict underwear-only dress code, with partygoers having to remove their clothes in order to enter the space — which the bar describes as ‘dedicated to the sin of lust.’

Guests — or ‘sinners,’ as the bar is calling them — have to follow the unusual dress code to be granted access to the dimly-lit space.

The bar boasts that they are ‘bringing sin and debauchery to the city’ and partygoers will even have opportunities to be ‘whipped by “hookers” in an expression of the sin wrath.’

‘In the name of all things lustful, we want our guests to really get into the spirit of lusting after their fellow sinners. What happens in the lust room — stays in the lust room,’ read a press release.

The space will also offer ‘various intimate items to ensure couples and singletons make the most of their time in there.’

The rooms in the two-story venue also adhere to the ‘seven deadly sins’ theme, and  each one is dedicated to a different sin — including the ‘gluttony’ room, ‘which sees a never-ending feast of favorite foods from cupcakes and cookies, to chicken wings and fries.’

The wrath room is described as ‘a BDSM playground where sinners can bind, gag and whip each other.’

In the ‘vanity’ room, guests can admire themselves in mirrors, while in the ‘sloth’ room, only those with a VIP ticket can enter and enjoy time to rest with masseurs.

The ‘greed’ room will house a casino (where chips are redeemable for drinks) and the ‘envy’ room is set up for jealousy-inducing selfies.

Interested patrons will have to fork over $30 for general admission to the event, which runs from 9pm to 4am. An open bar ticket is $100.
