However, it is not known if performers Will Ferrell, Bradley Cooper, Christopher Walken or Jane Seymour will return for the sequel.

It is believed Brooklyn Nine-Nine creatives Evan Susser and Van Robichaux will be responsible for the new screenplay alongside filmmaker Rob McKittrick.

The original production was written by Steve Faber and Bob Fischer while David Dobkin helmed the feature as director.

It is also presumed the upcoming sequel will become available to watch through streaming platforms as opposed to traditional cinemas, due to the pandemic.

Wedding Crashers was a commercial and critical success, making $300million at the box office on a budget of just $40million.

It followed Jeremy Grey (Vince) and John Beckwirth (Owen), a pair of divorce mediators who spend their free time crashing weddings.

While they crash these weddings purely for free booze and the opportunity to hook up with women, they both meet women who cause them to question their womanising ways.

‘I would 100 per cent be down [for it],’ Isla said of the proposed sequel.

‘I think there’s a ton of comedy to be mined in that set-up. Those two [Vince and Owen Wilson] have such great natural chemistry. They riffed so well together,’ she told hosts David Campbell and Sylvia Jeffreys.

Turning her attention to her own role of Gloria Cleary, the redhead said she would be happy to reprise the quirky character.

‘I loved playing a bipolar nymphomaniac. It would be a really fun thing to step back into that role,’ she said. ‘Yeah. it would be great fun!’
