Aaron Chalmers and Talia Oatway finally bring newborn son home from hospital amid health issues

Aaron Chalmers and his girlfriend Talia Oatway have finally brought their newborn son home from the hospital after the tot was born with health issues.  

The Geordie Shore star, 35, and his partner welcomed their third son last week, with Aaron later going on to reveal that baby Oakley will be ‘in and out of surgery for 18-24 months’ following complications amid his birth.

And after spending eight days watching over their newborn, the couple finally ‘have our little soldier home’.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Aaron shared a snap of himself, Talia and their bundle of joy exited the hospital the day prior.

Writing alongside the sweet snap, he penned: ‘After a long 8 days and a very tired mum and dad especially mummy we have our little solider home ❤️!! Time to get him settled and start planning towards his first surgery!! We got this.’ [sic]

Meanwhile, Talia uploaded a snap of her holding her baby boy on Thursday as she prepared to leave the ward, before sharing that there was still ‘a long road ahead’ amid his health issues.

It comes after Aaron wrote an emotional message to his newborn son Oakley in a Sunday Instagram post, where he revealed the tot has caused him ‘nothing but worry’.

The TV personality gazed adoringly at the little one while wearing a cream T-shirt in a photo from hospital, where he and his girlfriend Talia have been staying since his birth.

While promoting and praising the use of soothers for her child, Talia penned: ‘The last few days have been so emotional and exhausting I just want to say thank you to everyone who has sent us love.’

In another post featuring further images from Oakley’s birth, she wrote: ‘Tough road we have ahead but my boy we love you unconditionally.’

The photos saw Talia cradling her pregnant belly before the scene then cut to Oakley’s medical papers and then her and Aaron cradling the tot after his birth.

As well as including the two snaps from her previous post, Talia also included a snap of Oakley in his cot with a balloon attached to it and a clip of her tenderly stroking his head.

Meanwhile, Aaron once again thanked everyone for their support as he filmed the couple preparing to spend the night in hospital with their boy.

He also appealed to fans to help him find a log cabin or cottage they could book for a family holiday for when Oakley is well enough.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Aaron opened up on his son’s condition and revealed that his partner Talia required Maternal–fetal medicine throughout the pregnancy.

Aaron also revealed that his son’s name was Oakley Bleu Chalmers, before noting that he and Talia were a ‘whirlwind of emotions’ following a difficult few days for the family.

Fetal medicine is described, also known as perinatology, is described as ‘a branch of medicine that focuses on managing health concerns of the mother and fetus prior to, during, and shortly after pregnancy.’

Giving an update on his son’s health, Aaron explained: ‘Hi everyone I just thought I’d jump on here quickly to give a quick update, me and Talia are overwhelmed with all the messages of congratulations and stuff, I’ll explain in a proper story in a couple of days.

‘We’ve had another healthy boy, another healthy baby boy called Oakley, Oakley Chalmers, weighing six pounds one ounce, unfortunately there’s been a few issues with the baby.

The TV star went on: ‘We’re not ignoring people, we’re just letting things soak in, just taking everything like what the specialists are saying and stuff, it’s been a rollercoaster and two days.

‘The baby’s healthy, heart, lungs and all that stuff, but we’re just got loads of meeting specialists and just letting people know the plan for the next few months.’

Talia also re-shared Aaron’s stories, before sharing a snap of herself and the tot, writing: ‘Oakley Bleu Chalmers, you’re so loved darling’.

Aaron later took to his Instagram stories again where he gave an update and thanked fans for their well wishes. 

He said: ‘I really appreciate all the messages after yesterday’s story. I cannot physically get back to everyone, I’m constantly running around. I’m going to stay at the hospital tonight with Talia and the baby, so I’m really looking forward to that.

‘It’s been another day of seeing specialists and getting the plan of what’s going to happen and all that kind of stuff. There’s a lot of information to take in in such a short period of time.

‘But once again I just want to thank you, there’s some really nice people out there sending messages, it really means a lot.’

Back in April, Aaron confirmed he and his girlfriend Talia Oatway were to welcome another baby – just weeks after reports claimed they were expecting. 

The professional fighter took to his Instagram account to confirm the good news. 

Uploading an adorable family snap for his 2.3 million followers he wrote: ‘ANOTHER BABY CHALMERS ON THE WAY. 

‘Can’t believe it we are having another baby! @memoriesbymel have made us the most gorgeous blanket to announce the news to the kids. 

‘3 babies in 3 years, we must be mad!’

It was previously reported that the couple were nervous about having three babies under three. 

The source told The Sun in March: ‘Managing the children is difficult for Talia especially as Aaron is often away training for his boxing career, and her family are all in West Sussex while her and Aaron are based in Newcastle

‘Aaron is a really hands on dad though and has really stepped up since he became sober.’  

The television personality and retired mixed martial artist is clean and sober after admitting he was drinking up to 15 beers a day in lockdown.

Aaron and Talia welcomed baby boy Maddox five and a half weeks early after an emergency C-section delivery last April. 

The MTV star took to Instagram at the time to explain the rollercoaster delivery story to his fans. 

‘Welcome to the world baby Maddox. He’s 5 and half weeks early but he’s a healthy 5.5lbs and Mam and baby doing amazing,’ Aaron wrote.  

He explained: ‘Fu**ing hell, well, today was a rollercoaster. The waters broke yesterday afternoon…

Premature: Aaron welcomed his second baby boy with Talia after she gave birth more than a month early by emergency C-section last April

‘Within the space of fifteen minutes they’ve rushed her [Talia] down to theatre because there was something wrong with the baby,  

‘The baby wasn’t moving, the heartbeat or something, so I literally rushed to hospital and as I was walking into the theatre and the baby was coming… I just got there for his birth.

‘Obviously, we didn’t know what [gender] we were having so the nurses held him up above the apron and it took us about a minute to realise it was a boy because my head was just all over the place.

‘Talias all good, the baby is amazing even though he’s early, but yeah, what a day. We’ve got two boys as well. 

‘Talias in the hospital now. I’ve just left her back there and I’m with the kids. She had to have an emergency C-section, which she didn’t want, but she did it because the baby needed to come out.  

‘He’s not a bad way 5.5lbs for being nearly six weeks early, so the doctors are happy. He’s just on antibiotics in case of infection.’
