Aaron Rodgers caught on camera ignoring Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett in brutal loss to 49ers

Aaron Rodgers’ frustrations during the Jets’ Week 1 loss at the 49ers were caught on camera as the quarterback was seen briefly ignoring offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

New York tallied just 266 total yards of offense in the game – including 167 passing yards for Rodgers – as the 49ers won 32-19 at home.

But even after the Jets took a 7-3 lead in the first quarter, Rodgers did not look incredibly pleased as he looked away from Hackett while he was trying to show him something on a tablet.

In a short clip of the moment, Rodgers appears to turn his head towards Hackett after a couple of seconds of looking in the other direction.

Rodgers would ultimately complete 13 of 21 passes with one touchdown and one interception as the Jets’ offense failed to get much going in his first game back from his Achilles tear.

The passer and Hackett, who previously held the same offensive coordinator role in Green Bay, are famously close friends, and Rodgers said last year that the coordinator’s presence in New York was a ‘big reason’ he chose to go there.

However, Hackett drew scrutiny as the team’s offense sputtered without Rodgers for last season, and there are suggestions the team has doubts about him as well.

SNY’s Connor Hughes previously reported that the Jets made ‘legitimate attempts’ to hire someone in the offseason who would have a title above Hackett and run the team’s offense.

Nonetheless, Rodgers showed some promising signs on Monday and most importantly made it through the game unscathed.

‘Yeah, it’s been a while, it felt great,’ he said afterwards. ‘A lot of gratitude just to be back in pads. So many people helped me get to this spot,’ Rodgers said. So I’m really thankful for my surgeon, my loved ones, my friends, the staff here, training staff to help me get back was really cool.’

‘Obviously, wanted to take a shot and feel the physicality of it,’ Rodgers continued. ‘Once I threw a couple balls and took a shot, it felt good, felt like I was into the game.’

The Jets travel to Tennessee to face the Titans next while the 49ers will play at the Vikings.
