ABC star Tony Armstrong breaks his silence on rumours he is secretly MARRIED and ‘hides his wife out of the spotlight’

Logie winner Tony Armstrong has denied rumours he has a ‘secret wife’ who stays out of the spotlight. 

The ABC star, 32, who is reportedly single, laughed when confronted with the whispers during an interview with Stellar magazine this weekend.  

‘If I had a secret wife I’d been hiding all this time, do you think I’d tell you?’ he joked

Tony insisted he’s not against the idea of marriage, but won’t be settling down with just anybody. 

‘It’s got to be someone pretty special and I suppose I’ve got to be in a space where I can also give them what they need,’ he said. 

Tony explained that while his career might be riding high at the moment, he is adamant not to buy into the hype of fame.

‘I’m just trying to remind myself to enjoy the ride and not buy into things when they’re going well. And not buy into it completely when they aren’t.’

Tony spoke about his his personal life during an interview with the Herald Sun in May, amid rumours he could be the next Bachelor.   

‘The dumbest one that is doing the rounds at the moment is that I’m doing The Bachelor,’ he said.

‘It is just not true but people who aren’t close friends but would have my number and stuff are buying into it,’ he continued.  

‘I hate that whole side of what I do so I can’t imagine having to go through what they go through on The Bachelor in front of Australia.

‘That is my idea of a living nightmare.’

Tony cemented his newfound star status when he won the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent at this year’s Logie Awards.

Last month, he announced he was coming out of football retirement after seven years away from the AFL, having played for Adelaide, Sydney and Collingwood.

The sports star signed on with a local Victorian football club, Barwon Heads Seagulls, for the remainder of the 2022 season.
