Absurd ‘Fake Melania’ theories emerge claiming a body double in sunglasses showed up to vote with Donald Trump

Melania Trump’s appearance as she stood by her husband’s side to cast her vote in West Palm Beach, Florida on Tuesday has sparked conspiracy theories.

The former First Lady was seen wearing a floor-length, short-sleeve, black-and-white polka dot dress from Christian Dior, the same one she wore during her September interview on Fox News while promoting her memoir.

Her hair was perfectly blown out, and Melania accessorized the look with black heels and a pair of ginormous sunglasses.

But online, some erroneously claimed the 54-year-old mother-of-one was swapped with a body double for the cameras, with some pointing to the large sunglasses she wore indoors.

‘This is absolutely, categorically not Melania,’ one X user wrote. ‘This imposter’s been wearing sunglasses indoors all day.’

‘Only #MAGA are stupid enough to believe this c***,’ the liberal user continued.

‘How is a man who walks around with a fake wife even a contender for president?’

Others also shared the absurd theory, with the popular liberal account BrooklynDad suggesting there is a ‘fake Melania’ standing next to the Republican nominee, and another supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris writing: ‘They’re making it really hard for me to stay quiet about fake Melania today.’

Another X user said there is ‘nothing like Election Day with a Fake Melania from the MAGAville,’ while yet another insanely suggested, ‘The check didn’t clear in time for the real Melania to make an appearance, so they had to bring the doppelganger off the bench.’

A self-described award-winning New York City drag queen also said she was ‘excited that he brought Fake Melania back one last time for his series finale.’

Meanwhile, Melania posted an ‘I Voted’ sticker to each of her social media pages following the appearance in Florida, along with an American flag.

She spoke just a few words at the election site, telling reporters that she was feeling ‘very good.’

But former President Donald Trump, wearing his signature ‘Make America Great Again’ hat, answered many questions and slammed reports of chaos at the polling stations around the nation.

‘It is crazy,’ he said. ‘I am just hearing in certain states it is going to be a long time.’

He specifically mentioned Pennsylvania, the battleground state that could decide the winner, where polls are showing that the race is currently tied.

‘I’m hearing in Pennsylvania they won’t have an answer until two or three days from now. I think it’s an absolute outrage if that’s the case,’ Trump said.

‘In certain states it is going to be a long time and it won’t even be close. It won’t be that close. They say I will win the state but it will take a long time to certify it.’

Many DailyMail.com columnists have now said Trump appears to be in the lead nationwide as polls start to close.

But top pollster Nate Silver has said he thinks that Democrat Kamala Harris will come out on top.

He said it’s ‘literally closer than a coin flip,’ with Harris winning by only a small percentage in the majority of his matchups.

According to his model, Harris won the Electoral College in 50.015 per cent of the simulations compared to Trump’s 49.985 per cent.

That equates to Harris winning 40,012 simulations to Trump’s 39,718.

Silver added that he had never seen anything like this during his years of predicting elections.
