Adam Woodyatt’s wife ‘furious’ after he ‘signs six-figure deal’ as she ‘struggles for money’

Adam Woodyatt’s estranged wife Beverley Sharp  is reportedly ‘furious’ at him for signing a ‘six-figure deal’ to star on I’m A Celebrity’, while she ‘struggles for money’.

The EastEnders actor, 53, who plays Ian Beale in the BBC soap, is yet to finalise his divorce from his spouse, 56, and has allegedly signed on the dotted line to receive £250,000 for his appearance on the ITV reality show.

And Bev is said to not be impressed with the deal according to The Sun which claims she’s struggling to make ends meet, while recent images obtained by the publication show the mum-of-two buying reduced food.

However, Adam, who is currently on tour with the play Looking Good Dead, is said to be paying Bev ‘interim maintenance payments’ to support her while their divorce is being finalised. They share children Jessica, 28, and Samuel, 24.

In the images, Bev, who was formerly Adam’s agent, is seen carrying marked-down groceries from a supermarket including bread, quiche and a fish pie.

An onlooker, who witnessed Bev buying discounted food, told the publication: ‘Bev looked a bit down on her luck and alone. You could see the yellow stickers used when food items are coming to the end of their sell by date.’

With an insider claiming that it is ‘maddening’ for Bev that the TV star is set to ‘traipse off to Wales’ for I’m A Celebrity before their divorce is even finalised.

While a friend of Bev reportedly added to The Sun: ‘She has really struggled financially’ and claimed Bev, will now ‘get Adam back’ by consistently having the voting number for him to do Bushtucker trials on ‘speed dial’.

The went on: ‘I think it’s inevitable he’ll end up getting picked for lots of trials and I wouldn’t blame Bev if she had his number on speed dial after all the pain and upset he’s put her through.

They added that it is ‘quite likely’ that she’ll be voting for him this series and won’t be ‘alone in that’.

Beverley and Adam split in August 2020 after 22 years of marriage.

MailOnline have contacted representatives of Adam and I’m A Celebrity for comment.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Adam is said to have agreed to take part in the upcoming series of the hit ITV show, after bosses offered him a bumper pay deal.

An insider told The Sun: ‘Adam was a big target for the casting team – he is a soap legend and is certain to be a huge hit with fans.

But they knew they might have their work cut out because he has been quite reticent to do interviews or reality TV shows in recent years.’

ITV bosses are believed to be thrilled that Adam, who is currently on an ‘extended break’ from EastEnders, will appear on the reality series.

MailOnline approached ITV and Adam’s representatives for comment at the time.

After taking a ‘break’ from the BBC soap, Adam reportedly closed down his management agency that he started with his estranged wife Beverley.

Sources claimed that the actor has signed up with a new service after deciding to close his old company.

Adams’ ‘personal management service’, XL, only represented Adam and was started with his ex Beverley.

His spouse reportedly negotiated his salary on EastEnders and other acting jobs while they were together under the Warwickshire based company.

But now they’ve split, Adam has reportedly shut down the management service’s website, according to The Sun.

However, XL is still listed on Companies House and in 2019 had a bottomline of almost £250,000.

Ian is now represented by the London based company QTalent as he continues to enjoy his 10-month sabbatical from EastEnders in his £93,000 motorhome.
