A potential homebuyer has revealed her shock after finding her dream home up for sale and then discovering the horrors inside of it.

South Australian resident Jess thought she had found the perfect property on Old Sarum Road at Elizabeth North, in Adelaide.

The three-bedroom and one bathroom property was priced for $169,000 and labelled as a ‘fixer upper’ on its listing.

Jess admitted the house looked like it needed a bit of work done on the outside but had no idea about how much worse it looked on the inside.

‘I can’t really afford anything, but I see this house and I’m like ‘Wow, this is really cheap. I can actually do this’,’ she said in a TikTok.

‘Paint the fence, grass seeds, plants and flowers … I could do this.’

The interior of the house has been completely gutted by a fire with the flames stripping the paint off the walls in the kitchen.

The cupboards were broken while a pile of dirty and old dishes sat inside the sink.

The lounge room appears untouched by the fire but its white walls are discoloured with rubbish piled onto the furniture.

Litter covered the floors in each room while the backyard was overrun by tall grass and weeds with rubbish strewn across it.

Jess was left absolutely shocked by the sight of the rundown house.

‘There are no words,’ she said in the video.

Jess said she was on the hunt for a house and ‘wanted to achieve homeownership’ and that her dream had come true when she found the house for sale.

The listing revealed the house had ‘rear fire damage’ with the blaze starting in the porch and laundry area.

The real estate agent warned the house ‘will need repairing’ but said the $169,000 price tag took into account the damages.

‘However priced to compensate the needed works to restore the home back to good condition,’ the listing read.

‘Opportunity knocks, for those that can renovate the damage. Priced to sell immediately its practically land-value at this bargain buying sale price.’
