Admiral will dish out share bonuses worth up to £3,600 to thousands of staff members after reeling in more car insurance customers by cutting prices.

The company reported a 90 per cent rise in annual profits to £839.2million for 2024. 

Inflation eased at the start of the year and Admiral cut prices ahead of rivals. 

Car insurance customers surged 15 per cent to a record 5.7m.

Milena Mondini de Focatiis, Admiral chief executive, said: ‘When we saw conditions improve we were quick to respond.’

It announced that more than 13,000 employees will get free share awards worth up to £3,600 through its profit-share scheme.
