Adorable black bear is snapped relaxing on a couch

  • According to the photographer – Mandy Stantic – bears are commonly found hanging around the landfill site
  • She said locals are well aware of the garbage dump because of the high chances of finding a bear wanderer
  • But she said it was odd to see a bear sat ‘just like a person’ as though ‘ready to have some popcorn and chill’

A Canadian nurse has captured some spectacular black bear behaviour after spotting one of the ferocious beasts chilling out on a sofa with its legs crossed.

Appearing very relaxed, the bear looks to be enjoying all the comforts the Northern Manitoba garbage dump has to offer.

According to the nurse – Mandy Stantic – bears are commonly found hanging around the landfill site.

And despite having moved away from the area, she still has fond memories of going to look for bears there.

‘You don’t see that very often. He’s just posing – just like a person,’ Stantic told CBC.

‘So, it just looked like he was ready to have some popcorn and chill.’

Just can’t bear to stand up: The cute ursine wanderer seems comically comfortable in this shot, with its legs crossed and paw on the arm rest. Photographer Mandy Stantic said: ‘You don’t see animals kind of imitating humans – sitting with their legs crossed, arms over the chair there’

Sofa, so good: And while it might seem odd to take a camera to your local dumping ground, locals know that the chances of spotting wild bears are very good. The dump isn't exactly a tourist trap, given that it's just a big pile of litter, so it's not somewhere you'd think to take a camera - however, for those aware of the bears that linger around there, it's worth taking a few snaps

Going so soon?: The extraordinary bear pops pricks its ears as Mandy Stantic snaps its peculiar behaviour. She explained: 'It just looked like he was ready to have some popcorn and chill. To see one sitting just casual like a human was pretty unique and I had to take a picture.'
