This is the adorable moment a baby skunk tries to befriend a border collie.
In the video, uploaded to Live Leak today and apparently taken in the United States, a nuisance skunk is seen testing the patience of a border collie.
The skunk, named Lil Pump, weighed just 8oz six weeks ago but has since grown in size and tips the scales at nearly 2lbs.
The baby skunk, named Lil Pump, is eager for a playmate and starts to climb all over his border collie friend
But the dog seems less than impressed and does not move, refusing to join in with the skunk’s games
He is recovering from having his scent gland removed, a procedure designed to stop domesticated skunks spraying off their infamous noxious smell.
In this 33 second-long clip, the playful skunk can be seen jumping all over the black border collie who looks like it just want to be left in peace.
He climbs on the unimpressed canine’s back, before appearing to nibble at the animal’s paw.
By this point the dog’s patience looks to be wearing thin and it starts to bar its teeth and growl.
He then nips the skunk – but even a bite does not put off the smelly mammal, who continues to nibble at the dog’s ear.
Finally, with the dog looking helplessly at the camera, the skunk loses interest and scuttles away.
Undeterred by the dog’s unwillingness to join in, the baby skunk keeps at it, moving from the border collie’s back up to his paws
Lil Pump still won’t stop playing and starts to jump up into the dog’s face. At this point the dog grows annoyed, barring his teeth and growling
Finally, the dog snaps and nips at the skunk. The first bite misses so he goes in again with a playful nibble. But the skunk still does not seem bothered
Eventually, Lil Pump – who has had his scent gland removed to prevent him spraying his noxious liquid around the house – loses interest in the dog and scuttles away
