Adorable moment toddler is introduced to her newborn sister

This is the adorable moment a toddler met her baby sister for the first time. 

Effie Beau Owen, who is 22 months, was filmed as she was introduced to newborn India Summer Owen at the family home in Bangor, North Wales. 

The proud big sister squealed ‘baby sister’ as she gave her cuddles and kisses.

The moment was captured by mother Poppy Johnson, 30, who said: ‘It was more than I could ever have imagined. I was so emotional watching them meet.

‘I wasn’t nervous at all about Effie and her reaction to Indie. She is such a loving soul towards everyone so I knew she would make a great big sister.’

Poppy, a business mentor, explained that due to her age, Effie didn’t really understand what was happening when she was pregnant and all she knew was that her mummy now ‘had a baby in her tummy’. 

The sisters were introduced at home on August 10.

The video shows Effie being carried into the living room by her father, kicking her legs in excitement when she spots her baby sister. 

‘Who is it? It’s Indie,’ her father says, putting his daughter on the floor. ‘It’s your baby sister.’

The excited toddler pulls at her dress in excitement as her parents ask if she would like to cuddle the baby.

Smiling Effie says ‘hello Indie’ before giving her sister a kiss and waving at her. 

When her father asks: ‘Who is this?’ Indie replies excitedly: ‘Baby sister!’ 

She later reaches in for a cuddle.
