Apparently a sandbar party at the location in 2015 to mark Independence Day on July 4 caused quite a stir when it attracted 10,000 party-goers.
The Detroit News reported that there were 166 arrests and citations that year and 62 medical calls as the coastal party got out of hand.
The event has since become a more controlled celebration, with the authorities involved in its organisation.
