The AFL have made an approach to Australian pop queen Kylie Minogue to perform at this year’s grand final.
According to 7NEWS, the AFL remain hopeful of landing the Melbourne singer in September despite being told ‘thanks, but no thanks’ when they initially approached her camp.
The identity of the AFL grand final’s main music act typically gets fans excited, with Robbie Williams stealing the show in 2022.
His performance sent the 100,000-strong crowd into raptures while fans at home were equally pleased, flooding Twitter with praise for the AFL’s choice to recruit the international superstar.
And now AFL bosses want to follow up with another huge name and hope to entice Minogue, 55, come September.

She will have a new album coming out on September 22, a week before the grand final, so there could be the opportunity to promote the record on the biggest stage in Australia.
Minogue has sold over 80 million records during her illustrious career, making her the highest-selling female Australian artist of all time.
Other international artists to play at the grand final include Sir Tom Jones (2014), The Killers (2017), Ed Sheeran (2014) and the Black Eyed Peas (2018).
