Over 100,000 fans packed into the MCG for the AFL grand final’s return to Melbourne, but one fan could not stay rooted to his seat and entered the pitch.
Australian sport has faced a spate of pitch invasions over the course of 2022, with fans of both AFL and NRL encroaching the field of play during contests all over the country.
And Saturday’s grand final was no exception as one fan was hauled down by security after leaving the stands and entering the pitch in the fourth quarter of Geelong’s demolition of the Swans.
The man was pictured wearing a t-shirt which read: #BringBackKFCKrushers.
The fast-food chain removed the popular drink back in 2018, much to customers’ frustration, having first hit Australian shores back in 2009.
