AGT winner Grace VanderWaal makes her acting debut in new film Stargirl for Disney+

She was sure to be a star since the first moment she graced the America’s Got Talent stage. 

And on Wednesday, Grace VanderWaal made her acting debut in the new Disney+ film, Stargirl. 

The 16-year-old stars as Susan ‘Stargirl’ Caraway in the drama-romance, based on the 2000 book by the same name.

The trailer begins with 17-year-old Graham Verchere, as Leo Borlock, participating in band practice. He then spots Stargirl watching him. 

In a voice over, he begins to look back on his early childhood years.

He and his mother move to Arizona, and he becomes the target of bullies. So he does his best to make himself invisible. 

Fast forward several years, and he is now in high school and part of the school band. Stargirl, who was previously a home schooled student, is now the new kid at his school.

His close pal Kevin Quinlant, played by Disney star Karan Brar, 20, assures him that Stargirl has a crush on him.

The duo begin to hang out, and Kevin is over-the-moon happy.

‘Being with you is the most anyone has ever looked at me in my entire life,’ he says. 

Stargirl hits Disney+ on March 13.
