AI-powered OnlyFans rival launches with £3m funding

An artificial intelligence-based rival to content streaming platform OnlyFans that has signed up Baywatch star Carmen Electra has been launched after raising £3 million in seed funding.

Adult entertainment start-up OhChat, which creates ‘digital twins’ of celebrities and influencers who have partnered with the site, is valued at more than £16 million following the funding round.

Fans can pay to receive X-rated messages and photos from the AI likenesses of stars.

The firm said it has signed up 75,000 users across 174 countries in its first few weeks.

Pulling power: Users can interact with digital twins of celebrities including Baywatch star Carmen Electra

Founders Nic Young and Felix Henderson said the London-based firm is an ethical alternative to sites such as OnlyFans, as real people are not involved in the creation of adult content.

As well as digital twins, OhChat will feature entirely AI-generated characters.

Investors in the funding round included Tangent Ventures, Big Brain Holdings, Kosmos Ventures and Tagus Capital.

OhChat is forecast to turn a profit in its second year.
