Finally, an AI for the people! Artificial intelligence-powered app chooses the perfect bottle of wine for YOU by simply analyzing labels
Most people feel overwhelmed strolling through the wine aisle, but a new AI-powered app can find the perfect bottle of vino in seconds.
Called Sippd, the app learns about your palate based on a seven-question assessment quiz that asks what colors, bodies and sweetness you prefer.
You can then head to the store, pull a bottle from the shelf and snap the label – the AI-powered software analyzes the information to reveal a ‘Taste Match’ score.
Sippd will also display tasting notes, food pairings, retail pricing and community ratings.

Blake Hershey, CEO and co-founder of Sippd, said in a statement: ‘Traditional wine selection, whether in restaurants, stores or online, can be overwhelming and tedious.
‘We believe that choosing wine shouldn’t feel like a high-stakes gamble.
‘Sippd is designed to alleviate these pressures. Our AI-driven platform learns about your palate preferences based on a short palate-assessment-quiz, recommending wines that match your taste profile perfectly.’
According to the company’s website, users open the app and tap the ‘Camera’ icon to activate the wine scanner.
Then select the ‘Bottle Label’ icon and snap a photo of the bottle facing you, showing a screen with the Taste Match score and ratings.
‘Rate the wine on a one- to five-star scale, jot down aromas, flavors or who you enjoyed the bottle within your private notes section, and edit four characteristic wine sliders to remember how the wine tasted,’ Sippd shared in a statement.

The app can also help users sift through a wine list to find an enjoyable bottle of vino
‘With each rating, Sippd learns more about your unique taste preferences giving you more accurate wine recommendations.’
The app can also help users sift through a wine list to find an enjoyable bottle of vino.
This feature works similarly to scanning a bottle, but instead, users select ‘Wine List’ and the scanner analyzes the physical restaurant menu.
Sippd also announced a direct-to-consumer subscription service that offers members a personalized wine experience delivered to their door.
The Wine Club offers two membership options so members can select the plan that best suits their budget and lifestyle needs: the Classic and the Explorer.
The Classic Membership includes four bottles in a box for $69.99 (or $17.50/bottle) and Explorer offers six bottles for $89.99 (or $15.00/bottle).
