An Alabama Department of Transportation crew was caught dragging a dog’s dead body along a highway on Tuesday.
April Bennett said she was driving with her five-year-old son on Interstate 20 when she spotted the department’s truck dragging the lifeless dog.
Bennett said she started taking pictures, but when the driver saw her, he pulled off the highway.

She told Al.com that the dog appeared to be a German shepherd.
Moments later, Bennett told her friend and the police were notified. Bennet said her son was left ‘really upset’ after witnessing the horrific incident.
ALDOT spokeswoman Linda Crockett acknowledged a department crew found a dead dog on the interstate.
She apologized for the manner in which the dog was disposed and said the incident is being investigated.
The department said ‘appropriate action will be taken’ after Bennett posted the photos on Facebook.
As of Thursday morning, the investigation into the incident was still ongoing.
