Aldi to restock Liz Earle cleanser dupe

  • The supermarket is set to restock its £3.99 Lacura Hot Cloth Cleaner next week
  • Sent fans into a frenzy last year with fans comparing it to a Liz Earle product
  • Shoppers are selling the Aldi version on eBay for up to four times the price

Its purse-friendly skincare range has gained it a cult following, and now Aldi is bringing back one of its biggest beauty hits – a £3.99 cleanser that fans swear is just as good as a pricey Liz Earle product.

The German supermarket giant has announced it will restock its Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser next week, following its sellout success last November.

Such was its popularity last year, savvy shoppers are still flogging tubes of the cleanser on eBay for three times its original price.

With its £3.99 price tag, fans could buy six of Aldi’s Lacura Hot Cloth Cleansers and still have change left over for the same price as Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish (£26, 200ml) – a saving of 85 per cent.

Aldi’s skincare favourite will be available to pre-order online from 25th February and in-store from Thursday 1st March, but only for a limited time.

When it first hit shelves last year, beauty fans were impressed by its ability to gently soften, tone and purify the skin thanks to its combination of rosemary, chamomile, cocoa butter and eucalyptus oil.

Massaged onto dry skin, the formula works to remove makeup and cleanse skin, leaving the face feeling refreshed.

As with the Liz Earle equivalent, the Lacura product comes with a muslin cloth to polish off the product after use.

The product is also Leaping Bunny certified, which means it is certified cruelty-free.

It’s not the first Aldi product to send beauty fans wild, however; last year its £7.99 Lacura Cuvee Royal serum drew comparisons to its pricier designer counterparts.
