Aled Jones’ son Lucas looks spitting image of his father

He began his choir boy career at the tender age of 12, before his cover of The Snowman’s Walking In The Air catapulted him to nation-wide fame aged 15 in the eighties.

And Aled Jones, 46, looked to have passed his famous looks onto his son Lucas, 12, who looked the spitting image of him as they stepped out in London.

The father-son team looked to be enjoying a day out, with Aled completing his daily errands.

Lookalikes: Aled Jones, 46, looked to have passed his famous looks onto his son Lucas, 12, who looked the spitting image of him as they stepped out in London

Remarkable: Lucas is almost the same age Jones was when he reached the top three in the charts with a cover version of Walking in the Air, the song from Channel 4's animated film The Snowman

With his windswept blonde hair, pale blue eyes and striking bone structure, the twosome looked remarkably alike as they made their way through the city.

And it appears their likeness is often remarked on, with Lucas almost tiring of the comments.

Last year Aled told Now magazine: ‘My son unfortunately looks like a Mini-Me. We’ve just been away in Birmingham and every person that came up to us said to him: ‘Oh my God, you look like your dad!’ He gets so fed up with it.

By the time Jones was 17, he had six gold and four platinum records and had performed for both the Pope and the Queen.

As well as trying his hand at acting, he has since forged a career as a presenter of popular shows including Songs of Praise and The One Show.

But despite his popularity, his kids don’t appear quite as taken with their dad, with Aled previously revealing they tease him when his Christmas songs come on.

‘They are like: ‘Oh, I don’t want to listen to that again!’ But they love it,’ he laughed.

As well as his son, Welsh singer Jones also shares singer Emilia, 15, with his wife Claire Fossett, 40.
