And in the spirit of the successful marriage equality vote, former The Bachelor winner Alex Nation has penned a heartfelt post, published by Kidspot, about finding love with a woman.
‘A woman caught me by surprise, out of nowhere,’ the 26-year-old wrote. ‘Initially, I was confused, scared even. I’m not anymore.’

In her post, Alex explained that she had been in heterosexual relationships her entire life before Maegan.
‘It’s been one of the most empowering things I have ever done,’ she declared.
Alex, who is mother to six-year-old son Elijah from a previous relationship, claimed hers and Maegan’s souls connected and that she found the strength to be herself.

She also revealed that she had been busy texting Maegan when the historic Yes vote was announced on Monday.
‘I sent her a text message saying ‘yes’ with all different coloured love hearts and underneath it I said “I couldn’t be more happy to be a part of this journey with you.”‘
The blonde beauty recently took to Instagram to share her first snap with Maegan as a couple on social media.

Their relationship first made headlines in August this year, following the failure of her romance with The Bachelor star Richie Strahan, 32.
