Alex Trebek took to social media on Thursday to reveal he’s taking a short break from Jeopardy after undergoing brain surgery.
The 77-year-old game show host addressed fans on YouTube in a video recorded at his home.
‘Some of you may have heard by now that during the holiday break I had a slight medical problem,’ Trebek said while sitting on a couch wearing a dark blue Jeopardy cap, yellow sweater and blue jeans.

‘Subdural hematoma, blood clots on the brain caused by a fall I endured about two months ago,’ he added.
Trebek said he underwent surgery and after two days in the hospital was sent home to rest.
‘The prognosis is excellent and I expect to be back in the studio taping more Jeopardy programs very, very soon,’ he said.
‘And I want to thank all of you for your concern,’ he concluded.
