Ludwig, who’s been seen on the silver screen in movies such as Bad Boys for Life, Guy Ritchie’s the Covenant and National Champions, ‘was in another state filming and made it back just in time’ for Leni’s arrival, the couple said on social media in a joint statement last May.

They described Leni’s childbirth as ‘a labor story for the books’ as they shared a series of clips and images as they took their child home for the first time.

The couple – who wed in late 2020 after a brief engagement – has been candid with the public about their pregnancy journey, as they dealt with three miscarriages before Leni was born.

In May of 2022, they opened up on Instagram about what they had been through, thanking for friends and followers for their steady support amid the tough times.

‘This woman’s strength astounds me every time,’ Alexander said of his spouse. ‘I love you @laurenludwig and your resilience through this just is one more of the countless reasons I love you. All the bumps life throws our way, we got this and for anyone else, you’re not alone. It’s a hell of a lot more normal than I thought.’

Lauren said in a subsequent post, ‘I decided I wanted to share because I don’t think it’s a shameful thing to talk about. I want to help others realize how common miscarriages are and how they aren’t something to be embarrassed about.

‘Going through this has made me realize, I definitely am not alone. It’s so common and yet, I feel its not talked about nearly enough. If more of us talked about these things, maybe we would feel less alone and at fault. Information is power and I want to start sharing more of it.’
