Alexis Mac Allister has completed the purchase of a luxury Cheshire mansion as he prepares for his second season as a Liverpool player.

The 25-year-old joined Liverpool from Brighton last season and went on to enjoy a fruitful first campaign at Anfield, winning his first silverware since moving to England as the Reds triumphed in the EFL Cup.

The five-bedroom property had initially been listed for £4.3million in August 2023, with the price subsequently dropped twice before the deal was completed at £3.9m last month.

While the Argentine prepares to move in, another familiar face to Liverpool fans will be rejoicing that the sale has finally been completed.

According to a report from The Sun, former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers had purchased the upmarket property for £3.95m in 2022 during his time in charge of Leicester.

However, with his four-year stint with the Foxes coming to an end following their relegation from the Premier League, Rodgers put the mansion on the market that summer.

The initial asking price requested offers over £4.2m, but after struggling to find a buyer and returning north of the border with Celtic Rodgers dropped the asking price to £4m in January.

According to its description online, the property comprises of three floors and includes five bathrooms and a gym, with planning permission in place for ‘leisure facilities’.

It also boasts a ‘beautiful Siematic kitchen & central island’, ‘lavish principle suite & dressing room’ and ‘impressive bathroom suites’.

Unsurprisingly given its price, the property is in Cheshire East Council’s highest council tax band, meaning Mac Allister will have to pay a total of £4,291.24 a year.

Located in the leafly town of Wilmslow, the area the property is situated in also houses a number of recognisable names from the world of sport, including one Sir Alex Ferguson.

Mac Allister will have a sizable commute each day however, with the property more than 40 miles away from Liverpool’s Kirkby training base.

The midfielder is currently representing Argentina at the 2024 Copa America in the USA.

On Friday Mac Allister assisted Lisandro Martinez’s opening goal, before netting in the shootout following a 1-1 draw as Lionel Scaloni’s side defeated Ecuador to earn their place in the semi-final.
