And fans of the Tomb Raider franchise got their first look at Alicia Vikander as the new Lara Croft in a poster and 15-second teaser trailer that dropped on Monday.
The poster shows the Oscar-winning actress, 28, looking moodily over her shoulder, wielding a large climbing ax that harks back to the 2013 Tomb Raider game that the new movie is based on.

Dressed in a ripped red T-shirt and jeans, her cheek is slashed and bleeding while her long brunette hair blows in a tangled mess.
In the teaser, released on the movie’s Twitter page, Lara takes aim with a bow and arrow as she runs through a forest, plummets hundreds of feet into a raging river and crawls through a dark tunnel.
The full trailer for the forthcoming Tomb Raider will be released on Tuesday.
The new style is very different to Angelina Jolie’s interpretation of action heroine Lara.

The actress famously brought the video game character to life in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in 2001 and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life 2003.
She wore a tight black T-shirt and shorts with two seriously huge guns strapped to her hips.
Rumors of a new Tomb Raider began swirling in 2007 and GK Films bought the rights in 2011.

But it wasn’t until 2015 that GK confirmed Warner Bros. and MGM had boarded the reboot with Roar Uthuag as director.
Alicia plays the daughter of long-lost English explorer Lord Richard Croft, played by Dominic West, who sets out to find him.
The movie is set to be released on March 18.
