Alisa and Lysandra Fraser share their day on a plate

Sisters and The Block winners, Alisa and Lysandra Fraser know only too well how important it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle despite leading hectic lives.

The pair, who are also busy mums, have four sons between them. Alisa has her hands full with Nate, six, and Dash who is two, while Lysandra has Emerson, eight, and Cohen, six.

The dynamic duo, who also head up their own interior design studio, said making sure their health is a priority is a key factor in managing their often over-flowing schedules.

Here, FEMAIL takes a look at what the girls eat to stay in top form as well as their exercise routines, and how they unwind from it all at the end of a long day.

Alisa Fraser (pictured left) with her sister Lysandra (pictured right) revealed how they prioritise their health despite their hectic schedules

The sisters both believe in the benefits of beginning their mornings with a healthy, protein-packed breakfast.

Alisa’s go-to is either overnight oats (which is a serving of oats soaked in a jar overnight) which she enjoys with almond milk, nuts, fresh fruit and coconut yoghurt or scrambled eggs with spinach and tomato.

‘When you are really busy juggling the work-life balance, it’s very easy to skip or make your health on the bottom of the pile,’ Alisa said.

Lysandra also stands by a more substantial breakfast. She revealed boiled eggs, with avocado and salmon or some fruit and yoghurt give her the energy she needs to face the day.

‘Time is something that is so hard to juggle but so necessary when you lead a busy life,’ Lysandra added.

For lunch, rather than loading up on carbs, both opt for salads, but both always make sure they add protein like salmon for extra energy.

Because the duo also makes exercise a priority, being organised means they are always able to fit in an F45 class or make time for a walk a beach walk with the kids.

Breakfast: Either overnight oats with almond milk, nuts, fresh fruit and coconut yoghurt or scrambled eggs with baby spinach and tomato

Snack: A protein shake or Greek yoghurt, nuts or a protein ball

Lunch: Smoked salmon with a salad

Dinner: A portion of meat or chicken with a serving of vegetables or salad

‘I always feel so much better after a gym session,’ Alisa said.

‘I make sure that I book into my gym classes so that I am committed to going.’

Lysandra said taking time to organise her schedule means she can always find that spare hour in the day to look after her health.

‘I have incorporated little hacks like preparing mine and the boy’s lunches the night before,’ she explained.

‘I will have everything ready to go so that the mornings are as easy as possible.’

The sisters, revered for their clever ability to transform a space, also make sure they maintain their energy throughout the day with a range of snacks.

Both shared they enjoy IsoWhey protein shakes after a workout.

But if they’re looking for a way to get through a busy afternoon – and quell a sweet craving – a bliss ball made from protein powder in flavours such as salted caramel or chocolate does the trick.

Dinner is also a simple affair, the girls revealed.

With healthy living a priority, heavy-carb laden meals are dispensed with in favour of a piece of cooked fish and a side of steamed vegetables, or a salad.

The girls said they always make sure they drink plenty of water throughout the day, and a morning coffee is always a fixture.

Occasionally Alisa revealed there will be a ‘cheeky glass of vino with dinner!’

The mums told Daily Mail Australia that in spite of their busy lives, it’s important to find time to relax and unwind.

‘Over the years we have learnt that even with so much going on, you need to give yourself a breather so that you can function better as a wife, mother, daughter, friend and sister,’ Lysandra explained.

‘Alisa likes to go on country dives with the family, exploring a new area and looking at beautiful old houses. I like spending time with my boys at the park or the beach.

Alisa added: ‘As hard as it is when you are so busy, you just need to make time to prioritise your health.

‘It may just be taking 15 minutes to go for a walk, or ringing a friend that you haven’t seen in ages to catch up for a coffee,’ she concluded.
