It’s engagement season in Hollywood.
From pop star Dua Lipa, 29, to superstar Selena Gomez, 32, and actress Zendaya, 28, some of the most eligible bachelorettes in America are settling down and they’ve got the hardware to prove it.
Fans were shocked when Lipa, who revealed her engagement to actor Callum Turner, 34, late last year, showed off her ring – reportedly an Etoile Solitaire Diamond Engagement ring from Tiffany and Co, which is no longer sold but once retailed for around $5,000.
Well, as they say, you can’t put a price on love, but some of Lipa’s peers sure seem to be trying. Here’s how the rocks adorning today’s most glamorous women stack up against celebrity royalty of the past.
Zendaya
Actor Tom Holland proposed to Spider-Man co-star Zendaya over the holidays.

The ring is said to be by the fashionable New Zealand-born and London-based jeweler, Jessica McCormack, estimated to be worth over $200,000.
The Euphoria actress has yet to publicly address her engagement to long-time partner Holland, but the Daily Mail has been told that Tom, also 28, got down on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage.
Selena Gomez
Acting and singing superstar Selena Gomez announced her engagement to her 423 million Instagram fans nearly four weeks ago with a picture of a magnificent marquise-cut 5 carat diamond ring.
The star of Only Murders in the Building had dated producer Benny Blanco, 36, for more than a year before he proposed.
Her whopping sparkler, displayed on a gold band pavé-set with small round brilliant diamonds, is thought to be worth around $1 million.
So, never mind murderers, Gomez should be careful that there are no burglars in the building.

Jennifer Lopez
J-Lo could might be more lucky in love tokens than in love.
To date she has received no fewer than six diamond engagement rings, three of which feature fancy colored gems, which come to a total value of $17 million.
The generous donors have been Ojani Noa, Chris Judd, Ben Affleck (twice), Marc Anthony, and Alex Rodriguez.
J-Lo’s favorite is said to be an 8.5ct princess-cut rare blue diamond with two baguettes on the shoulders given by Marc Antony in 2004.
The ring, created by Harry Winston, was said to have cost $4 million more than 20 years ago and the publicity around it caused a surge in the value of blue diamonds.
The ring is probably worth $6 million or more today.
Grant Mobley of the Natural Diamond Council told me that ‘for every natural blue diamond that comes to market, there are 100 Picasso paintings.’

Beyoncé
The superstar singer certainly knows how to put a ring on it and, like other celebrities, has chosen emerald-cut white diamonds for the purpose.
Yet, Beyoncé has been seen with an even bigger ring on her fourth finger in recent weeks. Could it be new? Or, as some have speculated, a re-set of the original?
This latest version, first spotted in September, is set with an emerald-cut diamond – just like the 2007 version. But it also has two trapezoid-cut diamonds on the shoulders.
I think it’s a completely new ring altogether. Why re-work an original token of love when, like Jay-Z, you have an estimated $2.5 billion for a new one.

Elizabeth Taylor
The fabulous late film star remains the absolute leader in the field with a staggering ten engagement rings – thanks to no fewer than eight marriages and 10 proposals, of course.
She called one of her rings the ‘ice rink’ due to its enormous size at 29.4 carats – a token received while Taylor, then 24, was still married to another man (albeit in the process of divorcing).
The exquisite emerald-cut white diamond from 47-year-old film producer Mike Todd was described as a friendship ring and worn on her third finger until her divorce was finalized.
The great love of her life, Richard Burton, first went down on one knee with no ring at all, but a Bulgari brooch worn by Taylor in the 1963 movie The VIPs. Later, she pinned it to her marigold yellow wedding dress.

Lady Gaga
First spotted during the Venice Film Festival in September 2024, this very pretty ring – a spectacular oval-cut white diamond on a band of pave-set diamonds – is Lady Gaga’s third engagement ring.
This glittering rock is from her current fiancé, entrepreneur Michael Polanksy.
I would estimate the principal diamond at 10-12 carats, but it could well weigh even more than that and would have cost at least $1 million.
Her first engagement ring from actor and model Taylor Kinney was a sweet Lorraine Schwartz heart-shaped diamond.
A few years later Christian Carino proposed with a 12-carat oval shaped pink sapphire surrounded by 12 round brilliant diamonds. Their relationship fizzled out in 2019.

Mariah Carey
It’s been more than 35 years since Mariah Carey’s smash holiday hit, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You.’ Her 35-carat emerald-cut white diamond ring from Australian billionaire James Packer didn’t last quite so well.
Their 2016 engagement went nowhere and she sold the $10 million ring for a mere $2 million two years later.
Carey was first married when she was just 23 to Tommy Mottola, a 43-year-old Sony Music executive, in 1993. They divorced in 1998.
She married her second husband, comedian Nick Cannon, in April 2008, and gave birth to two twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
Today, after a long relationship with backing dancer Bryan Tanaka, Carey is said to be single.

Paris Hilton
The heiress boasts a mere four engagement rings, the most valuable being her second, given by Greek shipping heir Paris Kassidokostas-Latsis in 2005.
At 24 carats, the emerald-cut diamond, flanked by two baguettes, is enormous.
Paris had originally popped the question – to Paris – with a canary yellow diamond, but the bride asked to trade up for the emerald cut whopper. She later auctioned it off to raise money for Hurricane Katrina.
Today, Hilton, 43, is happily married to venture capitalist Carter Reum. Paris’s most recent ring was created by Jean Dousset, a descendent of the Cartier family, and inspired by the glass ceiling of Le Grand Palais in Cartier’s hometown of… yes, you guessed it: Paris.

Kim Kardashian
The most famous of the Kardashian clan has had quite a few rings in her time.
But it is her second engagement ring from second husband Kanye West that is the most well known – and not merely because the 20-carat emerald-cut diamond set on a micro-pavé-set band is so spectacular.
Rather, because after Kardashian posted a picture on her Instagram account, the result was the terrifying 2016 robbery in a Paris hotel, in the course of which the reality star was tied up.
