A man hauled from his home in his underwear is one 644 suspected domestic violence offenders arrested as part of major police operation to crack down on allegedly violent partners.

NSW Police footage shows the man in black hipster briefs tussle with officers as he is arrested for alleged domestic violence causing actual bodily harm and common assault.

Police slapped cuffs on the man inside his home before leading him to the front yarn and bringing him to the ground as he struggled.

‘Don’t carry on!’ one of the arresting officers tells the man in his jocks.

The litany of arrests across the state came as part of Operation Amarok II, with weapons such as firearms, knives, gel blasters and even spearguns seized by police.

Police laid more than 1100 charges against the alleged perpetrators in their raids.

One of the most disturbing arrests came in the regional town of Broken Hill where just before 10am on Thursday police conducted a firearm prevention order search and allegedly located a .22 Magnum firearm, a bolt from another firearm and rounds of ammunition.

A 35-year-old man was charged with two counts of possessing an unauthorised firearm, possessing ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority and breach of bail.

In  the Griffith, three men were arrested after a search warrant allegedly uncovered a .22 calibre pump action rifle, a gun blaster, prohibited drugs, cash and paraphernalia believed to be linked to drug supply.

They were charged with multiple offences which included AVO breaches and illegal firearm possession.

A 16-year-old boy was also arrested at Rose Bay in Sydney’s east after a short pursuit.

The man was wanted over an alleged domestic violence offence and police located him not far from his home allegedly with a spear gun in the vehicle.

Police will allege in court the boy threatened his mother with the spear gun.

He was charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic) and take and drive conveyance without the consent of owner.

In a statement on Wednesday NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said the arrests of 644 people helps protect victims from future violence.

‘Let’s be clear, domestic violence is a crime. Our operation was targeting particularly those criminals who were repeat offenders,’ Ms Webb said.

Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism Yasmin Catley said domestic violence is one of the major issues plaguing our generation.

‘We know that domestic violence is a whole community problem, and we must tackle that in any way that we can,’ she said.

‘And the NSW police through its action with Amarok is doing just that.’
