Alli Simpson and Jai Waetford hosts of Sony’s new series

Alli Simpson and Jai Waetford have been announced as hosts of Sony’s new online reality series, The ShareSpace.

LA-based Alli, 19, said in an official statement on Wednesday how excited she was to return to her native Australia.

‘It’s a pleasure to be working closely with Jai and I can’t wait to get back to my amazing home, Australia,’ Alli said.

The show – which launches next month – hopes to find the next singing sensation and will air on Youtube. 

Talent will be shown the ropes of the industry and how to use social media to an advantage, over 30 days. 

‘It will great to see how The Talent evolve through collaboration and creativity over the 30 days. Exciting times ahead!,’ Alli said.

‘I know Alli and I will have a blast as the Hosts,’ Jai – who rose to fame on The X Factor Australia – added in part of his statement. 

The winner who is ‘most engaging’ will be signed to Sony.

The likes of Justin Bieber and Troye Sivan were discovered on Youtube, while Alli has a strong social media presence and 567,000 subscribers on her YouTube account.

Alli is the younger sister of singer Cody Simpson, 20, who is known for hits including Pretty Brown Eyes and Surfboard.

The siblings hail from Australia’s Gold Coast and moved to the US with their family in 2010 for Cody to pursue his singing dream. 

Alli has also released a number of songs, including Notice Me and Why I’m Single.

Back in 2015, Alli told The Daily Telegraph that she and Cody found it tough adjusting to the pressures of fame.

‘I struggle with it and Cody does, too,’ the blonde beauty admitted.

‘It is just the pressure really of what other people think.

‘People are very opinionated and obviously we are always going to have that because you are not going to be universally loved,’ she added.
