Amanda Owen has revealed things are ‘easier’ now that she and her husband Clive are separated as she discussed their split.
The 48-year-old, who rose to fame on Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm, released a statement with her husband, 68, in June, announcing the end of their 22 years of marriage.
Speaking to The Times, she explained how they continue to work together on the farm in Ravenseat, Yorkshire, and look after their nine children, adding: ‘People assume that because I’m separated from my husband, Clive, things are harder, but in fact it’s the opposite. ‘
Meanwhile she hinted at her desire to grow her online profile, revealing: ‘I’d like to do more social media posts but there’s no mobile signal and I only have internet access from the farmhouse so I can’t livestream.

‘It’s pretty hard keeping all the balls in the air, but the reality is that talking about shovelling sh** pays more than shovelling sh**. It’s ridiculous, but that’s how it is.’
Amanda met her husband in 1995 when he was already divorced with two children, after she arrived at his farm as a 21-year-old trainee shepherdess.
It didn’t take long for the couple to get hitched, with their nine children quickly following.
Amanda made her first TV appearance alongside Clive, 68, in 2011 on ITV’s The Dales, before they landed their own Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm in 2018.
The 48-year-old, who often updates her Instagram followers with snaps from the farm, revealed she would ‘like to do more social media posts’
The public were quick to fall for the couple and their unusual love story, dubbing them the ‘Kardashians of the Countryside’ with their hit show Our Yorkshire Farm.
The shepherdess began making solo appearances on a variety of TV shows, becoming a regular guest on programmes such as Lorraine and This Morning to offer comment on parenting and life on the farm.
In November 2021, neighbours told MailOnline she and Clive had been living apart for months after she ‘got caught up in the spotlight’ of her Channel 5 programme.
Amanda moved into their rental property down the road from Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale, where Clive has been staying in the farmhouse, villagers said.
Family: The former couple have nine children together; Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clemmie, and Nancy
Clive was understood to be ‘desperate’ to repair their relationship and ‘feared’ their marriage would end in divorce.
Ms Owen last year published a book titled Celebrating The Seasons With The Yorkshire Shepherdess, which features stories and pictures from their lives in the countryside, alongside seasonal recipes.
In June, the farming reality show star and best-selling author issued a joint statement with Clive, 67, on social media which said the couple have made ‘the difficult decision to separate’.
The statement continued: ‘This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family.
Over: The couple shared a joint statement on social media confirming they had split in June 2022
‘Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children.’
The couple added that they would like to thank everyone for their support and asked for privacy as they ‘work through this difficult time’.
