Amanda Seyfried looks ready for duty as a police officer fighting the opioid crisis on the New York set of the thriller Long Bright River

Amanda Seyfried appeared ready ‘to serve and to protect’ while working on her latest project.

The actress, 38, who stunned at the Berlin Film Festival, was costumed in a police uniform on the set in New York. 

The Mama Mia! actress looked official wearing a patrol uniform of a black shirt and slacks with a heavy jacket embroidered with the police seal.

She is starring as a Philadelphia police officer in Long Bright River based on the best-selling 2020 novel by the same name. 

The natural beauty was made up to appear barefaced and her long, blonde hair was styled in a low bun.

The actress was pictured behind the wheel of a police car for the scene.

To prepare for the job, Seyfried went for a ride-along with some real Philly cops, along with author Liz Moore, according PhillyVoice.com. 

Seyfried grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania. 

The versatile actress will star as Mickey, ‘a police officer who patrols a Philadelphia neighborhood hard-hit by the opioid crisis.

‘When a series of murders begins in the neighborhood, Mickey realizes that her personal history might be related to the case,’ according to the logline for the project. 

The investigation leads to a search for Mickey’s sister, Kacey, an addict who has gone missing. 

The limited series was ordered by Peacock and Seyfried is listed as an executive producer. 

The versatile actress has two projects ready for viewing.

She starred in Seven Veils as a theater director who is producing the opera Salome, a work that just happened to be her mentor’s most famous work. 

The multi-talented star promoted the project at February’s Berlin International Film Festival.

She also stars in the crime comedy I Don’t Understand You with Nick Kroll and Andrew Rannells.

No release dates have been announced yet for those projects.
