With less than a fortnight to go until Halloween, an amateur sculptor has created a scarily realistic model of what is set to be one of this year’s most sought after fancy dress characters: Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

Nicholas Brown, a self-taught artist from Belfast, produced the terrifyingly realistic model of Stephen King’s ‘It’ creation in just ten day, sharing the process via a video on YouTube.

The video shows Mr Brown construct the life-sized bust from layered clay, before painting on additional detailing, such as Pennywise’s characteristically menacing glare.

Mr Brown started sculpting just six months ago, having been inspired by fellow YouTubers. His channel ‘Lorecraft’ has also seen him create a number of other iconic characters, including Game of Throne’s Night King, and DARKNESS, from Ridley Scott’s ‘Legend’.

Mr Brown used clay to first of all construct a life-sized replica of Pennywise’s head, leaving indents for his iconic fierce eyes and grinning mouth

The artist then added specific detailing, including mouth and nose features and prominent wrinkle lines

Mr Brown’s latest creation is now being offered for auction ahead of 31 October celebrations.

Pennywise, the central character in Stephen King’s 1986 horror novel ‘It’, has been terrifying the masses for the past three decades but returned to prominence this year with the release of ‘It: Chapter One’, the film adaptation.
