This is the amazing moment Londoners teamed up to lift a rubbish lorry from a man who had become trapped underneath.
The elderly man is thought to have become wedged under the vehicle after it reversed in Wapping, east London this morning.
He screamed in pain when the driver attempted to move the vehicle forward, so local workers and pedestrians came to his aid and lifted the truck together.
A group of Londoners came together to lift a rubbish truck from a man trapped underneath
The video, filmed by a local resident, shows the man shouting as he is trapped under the rear axle and bumper of the council waste van at around 7.30am today.
A group of people then gathered around and decide to lift the truck, with more than 15 people eventually needed to free him before an ambulance arrived.
Local resident Grigorios Zontanos, 38, told MailOnline: ‘I heard a lot of people yelling very loud “Stop, stop!” and a very loud noise. I went to my window and I saw the man beneath the van.
‘The man had pain in his chest and the driver tried to move the van, but it was making the situation worse.
‘All the people came together to lift the van and they managed to pull the guy out from underneath.
‘It was very nice how quickly the people reacted, everyone tried to help. It made me think that people in London are really brave and helpful, and if anything was ever to happen to me people would help me too.
The footage showed just the man’s arm sticking out from underneath the vehicle

An ambulance then arrived on the scene and the man was rushed to hospital with leg injuries
Mr Zontanos, a director at parcel firm Weengs, added: ‘The man was not in heavy pain and seemed like had problems only with his legs, I hope he is okay.’
The man was later rushed to hospital and treated for leg injuries.
A London Ambulance spokesman said: ‘We were called at 7:31pm today to Pennington Street, Wapping to reports of a road traffic collision.
‘We sent an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic, a motorcycle responder and an ambulance crew to the scene.
‘We treated a person at the scene for leg injuries and took them as a priority to hospital.’
