Amber Gill has claimed that she used to get told off by Love Island producers ‘every day’ because she ‘didn’t like any of the men’ on the show.

The influencer, 27, who went on to win the 2019 series, found love pretty quickly with Michael Griffiths but he cruelly dumped her in favour of Joanna Chimonides

She brushed herself off, and looked ready to finish the 2019 edition of the show single, when Irish rugby union player Greg O’Shea swept her off of her feet.

Amber later came out as queer, and dated Arsenal star Jen Beattie for almost a year. They split in December 2023 after 11 months together.

On Capital XTRA on Friday, Amber was dared to tell hosts Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie something about Love Island that would surprise them, saying: ‘I didn’t like any of the men, so…’

Amber, who set pulses racing earlier in August in a tiny black and white bikini, replied: ‘I didn’t like any of the men, so…’

Robert joked back: ‘Like, premise of the show, done!’

Amber replied: ‘I know! I used to get told off every day though … By the producers.

‘They used to say: “You’ve come on Love Island and you’re not doing anything apart from sunbathing.” And I was like: “I know, I’m sorry!”

She and Greg split the £50,000 prize and split themselves two months later.

Amber and Jen’s relationship was also sadly short-lived.

The reason behind their split was said to be a lack of time spent together.

A source told the Mail: ‘Amber and Jen have decided to end their relationship.

‘They remain good friends and the split was amicable but they just grew apart after struggling to spend time together.

‘There’s still a lot of love between them and Amber will always hold a special place in her heart for Jen but ending their romance was the best decision for their lives right now.’

In April, Amber sparked rumours that she had moved on from Alex with an influencer called Nakita Johnson, but she hasn’t been seen with her since.

Amber previously said of her sexuality: ‘They think I’m an attention seeker and say I’m trying to find this new thing…

‘I am so not an attention seeker. I knew it was going to happen because Love Island is such a straight show.’

Amber is also an author, and released summer romance novel Until I Met You in 2022. She released another summer romance, One Summer In Miami, in 2024.
