American Idol winner Laine Hardy’s life is on an upswing.
The 2019 winner has proposed to his girlfriend Jordan Gautreau and she’s expecting their first child.
The Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native shared a short video clip and some photos on Instagram in a joint post with Jordan announcing the news.
‘the secret is out…. I’m having his babyyy,’ the caption began.
‘We are so excited for this chapter of our lives. Looking forward to God’s plan for us. The biggest surprise and the easiest YES! Can’t wait for our new title as parents and to plan a wedding.’

Hardy and Gautreau, who is a cheerleader for the NFL’s New Orleans Saints, have not shared how they met or fell in love.
The country singer rose to fame after winning season 17 of American Idol in 2019.
‘I was just 17 years old when I first tried out for American Idol, and at the time, I couldn’t have ever imagined where I was headed,’ Hardy wrote on Instagram in October 2022.
‘Since then, I’ve been able to tour across America, play for our troops in Asia and make new fans in Europe. I had to grow up quickly and I am still learning more about myself every day.’
He’s largely been out of the public eye since 2022 when he was arrested for putting a wire in his ex-girlfriend’s dorm room to spy on her at Louisiana State University.
He eavesdropped on her phone calls including ones she had with her mother about their break up, legal documents said.
The musician’s voice could allegedly be heard while the device was being planted, the papers claim.
At the time, an unnamed source told Louisiana news station WAFB that Hardy was accused of spying on a female LSU resident.

Laine won season 17 of American Idol in 2018
Hardy confirmed the news on Instagram at the time, writing, ‘Earlier today, I received a warrant due to allegations made against me and have been fully cooperative with the Louisiana State University Police Department.
‘I understand that my career has thrust me into the public spotlight, and I embrace that wholeheartedly as my entire world belongs to my music and my fans.
‘However, due to the sensitive nature of this allegation, I humbly ask for privacy at this time.
‘I have the utmost respect for the law and will assist in their investigation as needed moving forward.’
