An American tourist has died after she was attacked by a shark while swimming in the Bahamas on Wednesday. 

Jordan Lindsay, 21, of Torrance,  California was snorkeling near Rose Island in the North Atlantic Ocean waters around 2pm when she was attacked.

Investigators believe there were three sharks involved in the vicious attack. 

Her parents Lindsay’s parents said they saw the sharks approaching and yelled to warn her but she couldn’t flee in time. 

She was pronounced dead shortly after she was transported to shore, the Royal Bahamas Police Force say.
